 Sadhu Bhusanah Gurudev !

A couple of days back, in his morning Japa meditations , Guru Maharaj chuckled like a little child and addressed his disciples - ‘You are the soldiers of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s Senapati bhakta, Srila Prabhupada. Where are your bullets ? Come on , put your hand inside your bead bags and shoot with your beads – Hare Krsna , Hare Krsna , Krsna ,Krsna, Hare, Hare , Hare Rama , Hare Rama, Rama, Rama, Hare , Hare.’

His beatific smile reminded me of the following verse -

sadhunam sama-cittanam

                       mukunda-caranaisinam   (SB 10.10.18)

Saintly persons [sadhus] think of Krsna twenty-four hours a day. They have no other interest.

HH Lokanath Swami, an ananya bhakta devotee of the Lord, has the wisdom, unlike most of us, to transform the reversals of life into blessings. Following in the footsteps of mahajans  Guru Maharaj continues, unaffected and unabated, in his devotional service, in spite of all the baseless and grossly misconstrued accusations invading social media. The epitome of humility and nishtha, he chooses to remember Krsna uninterrupted, instead of blaming the concerned people and their polluted consciousness.

Fearless and peace loving, he is suhrdah sarva dehinam , everyone’s friend and benefactor .  Unfazed and detached, he continues to shower his mercy on his disciples, fulfilling the mission of his guru , preaching the glories of the Lord, whilst he calmly tolerates all provocative allegations.

Srimad Bhagavatam narrates the difficulties that Kuntidevi faced , vipada santu sasvat tatra tatra jagad guru. She thanked Krsna as she understood it was His plan and a perfect one at that.

Para bhakta Citraketu was equipoised too, when cursed by Mata Parvati, not deviating from his mood of service and meditation .

King Huhu, a beautiful and exalted Gandharva king, expert at music and dance, was forced to become a crocodile, a miserable life but one that took him towards the perfection of life.

Gajendra who was the pious Maharaj Indradyumna, was cursed by Agastya Muni by no fault of his own, but this reversal gave him an opportunity to turn towards the Supreme Lord .

Sant Tukaram was beaten by an envious brahman but it was Tukaram’s Vaishnav-ness that made him ask for forgiveness from the Brahmin who was extremely repentant in turn too.

I have no intentions here whatsoever of comparing the accusers or their offences with anyone or anything, but I completely and totally intend to relate our beloved Guru Maharaj’s qualities with those of the above mentioned paramahamsas -akrta-droha (who never acts against the interest of any living entity), titiksu (forgives and forgets offences against himself) and satya sara (eternal and faithful servant of Supreme Personality of Godhead ).

It is time to refresh and remember Krsna philosophy as it is stated in the Vedas:

yasya deve para bhakti yathadeve tatha gurou

tasya ete kathitha hi artha prakasante mahatmanah

“One who has got unflinching faith in the Supreme Lord and similar faith in his Spiritual Master to him only the imports of Vedic knowledge become revealed.”

A Spiritual Master is always liberated. In any condition of his life he should not be mistaken as ordinary human being.

My sincere prayers for the accusers, who are willingly committing spiritual suicide and knowingly uprooting their wish fulfilling creeper of bhakti .

  What’s all this really about ?? Picture this! An allegation is made 30 years back, which is investigated thoroughly and post multiple interviews and tests, a verdict is given. In spite of a spotless record thereafter, the incident is painfully dredged up again. The decision of the GBC is forced under scrutiny and demands to be revoked, simply because someone spotted H H Lokanath Swami Maharaj’s picture on the internet and decided to call him a child molester. The alleged victim, a grown woman now, has not spoken up , though fully capable of doing so but certain other so called ‘do – gooders’ suddenly decide to protect the reputation of ISKCON , which funnily enough , was never under the scanner !
